How do I verify my college email?
Go to Settings → College Email. Enter your .ac.in or .edu email address and we'll send you a 6-digit OTP. Once verified, you'll earn your STUDENT ✓ badge and unlock campus-only content.
How do I publish an article?
Click the pencil icon or "New Story" in the sidebar. Write your article in the editor, add a cover image and topics, then click Publish. Your article will appear on the explore page and your followers' feeds.
What are Sparks?
Sparks are reactions on articles — like a clap or a like. You can give up to 50 Sparks to any article you love. Writers see how many Sparks their articles receive.
How does appreciation work?
Readers can show appreciation to writers they love. Appreciations are processed via Cashfree. Writers receive 80% of every appreciation — Fledgr retains 20% (which includes Cashfree's ~2% payment gateway fee). Appreciations are paid out to writers' UPI IDs on the 1st of each month.
How do I add my UPI ID to receive appreciations?
Go to Settings → Earnings. Enter your UPI ID (e.g. name@upi). It's stored encrypted and only used for monthly payouts.
How do Placements work?
College-verified students can share their placement experiences — company, role, package, difficulty, and interview rounds. Your package is stored encrypted and only shown to you on export. Others see an anonymized range.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings → Privacy → Danger Zone → Delete Account. Type "delete my account" to confirm. Your data is permanently deleted within 30 days. Financial records are retained for statutory compliance (7 years), with your identity anonymized.
How do I download my data?
Go to Settings → Privacy → Download my data. You'll receive a JSON file with your profile, articles, comments, placements, tips, and bookmarks. You can download once every 24 hours.
What is a Chirp?
Chirps are anonymous campus posts under a randomly generated ID — no name, photo, or college shown. They expire after 48 hours. Your chirp identity is never linked to your account.
I didn't receive my verification email. What do I do?
Check your spam/junk folder. If it's not there, wait a minute and try resending. Make sure you entered the correct email. If the issue persists, contact us.
How do I report inappropriate content?
Click the three-dot menu on any article, comment, or chirp and select "Report". Our team reviews all reports within 24 hours.
How do I report a bug or technical issue?
Visit the Status & Feedback page and submit a bug report. You can also track the status of your report there once signed in.
Is Fledgr free to use?
Yes. Reading, writing, launches, and placements are all free. Appreciations are an optional feature — readers pay what they choose.
